Human evolution:
Human race began to evolve.
1. War and the cruelty of the war came to light.
2. The absurdity associated with royalty and blood lineage was acknowledged.
3. Religion, Caste, and other factors that divided humans based on their birth was not to be tolerated.
4. Human race that differed in color, looks, and culture had nothing to do with their chromosome count and was proven scientifically.
5. Hard work and creativity and imagination were given importance.
6. Everyone and every living being has the same rights under the sun and had rights to share the wealth on earth.
7. Nature could not be exploited and compromised for only one species , so exploration had to expand beyond Earth and Sun.
8. Some ground rules had to be put in place to reduce the death rates and increase the life span and ease lifestyle by introducing new things like Law and Order and traffic rules and stuff.
The evolution in race improved in elegance and refinement and civilization improved.
Eye for an eye, Tooth for a tooth:
In olden days, there was no surveillance and human race wasn't civilized either.
It was all about survival of the fittest forgetting that it is only applicable when you are in imminent danger of facing death against an animal not your neighbour or another peer.
King and Queen were respected as God/Goddess while the gladiators were to fight to death to give merriment to the wealthy and chosen cunning manipulative crew.
In order to maintain order and stability the humanity and kindness had to be compromised and innocents were harmed just to frighten the mass.
Whether it carried remorse and guilt or not, it was justified and was underplayed to emphasize protection against enemies and stability.
Lying and thieving even if could be tolerated had to be controlled by harsh punishment just to prevent it from happening again.
Fair trial, benefit of doubt, proof for the crime were expensive and hence were not an option.
First amendment, freedom of speech, Rights:
And when creativity and imagination were given lot more respect it began to express its gratitude and kindness to handle humanity and started to give humans a fair chance by giving camera, photos and forensics etc.,
This also helped the innocents not to be labelled as criminals and helped people in L&O to do right thing. They didnt have the need to feel guilty if they had doubts of their own, the forensics helped them to differentiate truth from lies.
The common mass no longer had to live in fear of getting arrested or labelled for no reason. They were given rights to fight and convince and prove their innocence.
And the rest of the mass and commoners didnt have need to live in fear of probability to be chosen and proven as a guilty party.
They were given rights and fair life and chance to continue their life to live the way they choose as long as it didnt trouble the guy standing next to them.
Live as you like and even as an ass as long as you dont kick anyone else.
Human rights : Right or Wrong
In Canada, you dont have capital punishment.
In US, you cant arrest anyone without reading him Miranda rights and you cant raid any house without a warrant.
And you cant hurt the accused physically.
In developing countries and underdeveloped countries, any person can be anytime arrested and abused and beaten up and sometimes even they can die in custody and there is law to fight for the victim or family of the victim.
Guilty or not guilty is all about forced confession that is extorted by using physical force.
Beating them up in custody denying them rights and giving them no rights are norm in country and society. And anyone can escape from the law if they have money and power.
Again in developed countries it isnt rosy picture either, yet if you dont have money if you have fair chance to earn media's mercy and could be spared.
Again sometimes you may be subjected to gamble your chances yet you can still expect a fair chance and if you can get one, you can sue the government and make them compensate for your loss.
And society in developed countries is much more tolerant and forgiving and relatively fair, a person can get second chance for Presidency even after a sex scandal.
And arresting a suspect and labeling him as accused and proving him to be guilty takes lot of work. Not just beating him up in custody and asking a writer cop to write a confession and force the convict to sign that.
Cops need to lie, do lot of leg work, collect evidence and get them run by forensics and coherence confession out of the suspects and prove that in court of law sometimes in front of grand jury.
Computer age:
Computer evolution started from town criers, messengers, doves, mails, telegraphs, telephones, cellphones, emails and twitter and social networks.
If at all, you stay in touch with your school friend, it could be only because of emails yesterdays and facebook today. How many folks ask any girl out in person unless they are old fashioned?
I can bet most of invitations happen via email, facebook or text message.
Facebook and Twitter:
We dont read books, we watch movies ;
We dont send Christmas cards, we send e-cards,
We dont call and wish bday, we drop the wish on facebook wall,
We dont buy chocolates we send candy grams,
We dont welcome prince charming with rose and champagne asking for our hand but to strangers in uniform asking for our signature
Not ignoring the revolution in Egypt and Libya sparked by blogger, facebook and twitter.
None of the above is bad, but I am not sure about
- the arrests based on what was written on a drunken friday night on facebook,
- firing someone over failed sarcastic attempt to impress someone on facebook about earthquake in Japan,
- using message "my roommate is gay" to arrest and sentence someone to 10 years,
- prank joke of duct tape on kid in facebook,

Where will this end?
- We are making cops lazy and forensics department go jobless and reducing work for prosecutors , and we are not even allowing the jury to weigh the evidence or think
1. We gave them guns to protect themselves in imminent danger, instead they are shooting autistic kids willynilly,
2. We pay our tax money to train them and exert confession from them
3. We took away rights to beat them up but we gave them rights to lie to accused
4. We made them efficient by not making assumptions instead do leg work and find things,
Now , these arrests are "THOUGHT CRIMES", what are we trying to do, asking people to stop typing anything on facebook and twitter and not allowing them to share something with their friends essentially asking them to SHUT UP and NOT SPEAK UP. This isnt China, this isnt Cuba.
And employers, employee
And the thing which bothered me the most was recent news about facebook fight with employers asking for potential employee's facebook profile before deciding to deny them a job.
This is just plain ridiculous, what next? Arrest people for precrimes like in movie "Minority report?"

True, I read an article somewhere that said todays teenagers will most likely have to change their name before they can apply for a job, because people are not sensible enough about what to put on the internet. they don't realise the implications it might have in later life.
ReplyDeleteWe are humans, we evolve, everyone might have done something insane and said something stupid, as long we didn't end someone else's life, it is acceptable and to be taken as part of growth pattern. This one is giving access to our brain and thought process, should be taken as medium of communication not a conspiracy plot and add own thoughts and cook stories around it.
DeleteYou're right. Money makes the world go round. And lies. And the truth. The Spanish king wasted a $100,000 on a trip to shoot an elephant, then broke his hip (served him right) and he got a new hip within 24 hours, while the average waiting list in Spain is so long nobody really knows how long. It's the same with justice.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You were right. Even your first sentence was not grammatically correct :( So much work to do, so little time....
Why do we have monarchy still? Even in chess we should retire King and Queen. A Trump or King of Spain, they always need to target the elephants, dont they? Instead of weapon Vs the unarmed animal, why dont they try a duel man-to-animal, that would be more majestic and manly right?
DeleteThank you, I understand your frustration, the funny thing is I still dont understand which line you are talking about, every line is screaming code red :)
That's a very good question to which, much to your disappointed, I wouldn't know the answer to. Yes, I read about the King of Spain going on on a let-shoot-some-poor-elephant spree. I'd like to see that: king versus elephant, no guns.
DeleteI'm not frustrated. I'm blue.
Not frustrated?
DeletebTB, are you speaking my language or youR disappointed is missing something?
There was a post the other day about the book and movie 1984 and all about big brother and doing what you're told and being watched all the time, we're getting there just a little later than planned!
ReplyDeleteWill give it a watch. Looks like everyone should follow you-know-who(I dont want my blog to go on watch list either ;-) team in you-know-where in middle-east who had completely given up phones, emails, internet etc.,
DeleteThat guy from Afghan who died in Pakistan, with 8 wives lived in a building without internet, typed his messages in floppy disk, and used a man-courier and still could live so only for 11 years.
Think about all the people who had leashed their brain and thoughts to the world, I dont think would stand a chance. :)
Don't watch the movie, the book is much better. The movie lacks the depth of the idea behind "WAR IS PEACE", "FREEDOM IS SLAVERY", and "IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH".
DeleteBut you honestly can't stylize the guy-who-died-in-Iran to be an ideal you should follow.
*the-guy-who-died-in-Pakistan
DeleteOk, will check it out then.
DeleteI loved your quote.
"WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH" - so true and pretty deep.
canada has no rights, they just make it sound like we do. but nope. canada is only good for hockey.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, you guys have free insurance right? Canada is also land of politeness as I read from another blog. But I love all the Canadian bloggers, so dont wanna see the "true" side :)
DeleteYep, those who have the money get away with whatever they want. The law now a days, as if it ever was anything more, is nothing but a joke. All places have their ups and downs to it, but for the most part the only law is the one the rich idiots make up on the go. We are getting to minority report or 1984 like times as well. It's pathetic how much they use scare tactics to try and get people under their control. Even more pathetic that people believe their nonsense.
ReplyDeleteYes, people believing in non-sense, dont they have any brain at all?
DeleteThough these L&O screwups are rare, in India it is part of life.
Eg.
One s/w guy- regular law abiding normal person was once arrested and had to spend 3 months in jail. And unlike in western countries, in India they are first physically tortured and then forced to write confession and jailed.
This guy's crime was someone posted something about Prime Minister on orkut- google's failed facebook, and the service provider by mistake pointed fingers at this guy - ie IP address mixup by service provider.
He wasnt compensated or anything, he lost his job and the cellular company sent him notice to pay the bill during his jail period. You have many cases like this. :(
Hey, I still read!!! Readers aren't totally extinct yet ;) LOL I love this post though b/c it's pathetically true. Funny, yet still a little sad. lol
ReplyDeleteYep, that's actually comforting. I dont see many reading nowadays.
DeleteOr even conversing. The coffee shops of yesteryear (maybe even as antique as 10 years ago) are now largely silent but for the whirring of hard disks and the pitter patter of little fingers on touch-screens. Talking in coffee shops is now akin to talking in libraries. Hell, I talk - even to myself if I have to. It's my job to shake things up I guess. Let's all get together and groove people. (No electricity allowed)
DeleteI'm actually excited. The 1984 comparisons are eerily apt at the moment (read the book, skip the movie!), but evolution is a continuous process. We're still evolving, adapting to changes incl. technology - the current screw-ups are a natural part of figuring out how to function with all this information suddenly available. Imagine 50 years on - it's going to be a completely different world, and not necessarily a worse one.
ReplyDeleteThen book it is. I will read 1984 and see.
DeleteScrew-ups are fine, when screw-ups are justified and fought for, that is when we feel screwed.
I know this may sound crackpot "conspiracy theory" but it worries me that the ability of employers, law enforcement and government to take away our rights based on something that is said on the internet aids in the establishment of a one world government.
ReplyDeleteAnd with twitter and facebook it's one of those double-edged swords, you get some really fun, creative people and you get ignorant fools. But as long as we're free, I'll put up with the fools.
Touche to conspiracy theory. I actually feel scared sometimes.
DeleteAnd touche to double-edged swords and also handling the fools.
You comment - pearls of wisdom. I will take facebook and handle the fools rather than muted, masked, fake, mundane good morning , good afternoon wishes which could make the wall after 10 mins of thought process and after 10 mins consequence, violation check filter and such.
If polygraph has an advanced version in future to read my brain, would it worth my existence?
I was thinking "Minority Report" when you had Thought crime in caps. Sometimes the system is harsh, and sometimes it seems darn near invisible.
ReplyDeleteTotally. Somewhere you gotto draw the line, you cant use one incident and use it as excuse to deny even basic human rights?
DeleteChina justifies peeping into people emails and also executing the accused in a week's time with one excuse - STABILITY and US is also doing the same in different levels with one excuse - SEPTEMBER 11.
awesome post ;).
ReplyDeleteYour sentence "we don't read" crushed me, but it's true, we don't. Here's to the naive optimism that I can help resurrect reading!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't understand why Facebook profiles are important to job hiring either. "Look at her, she once went to a party and danced on a table while drinking a beer. There's no way we can hire someone like HER."
That's comforting to know that some do read unless they have promo in youtube or in some talk-show, I dont see ardent readers lining up to get first edition like before.
DeleteYep, if all employers pick up employees based on facebook, not just americans, every single person who has facebook or twitter account is unemployable after HR interview, and others they cant even apply for the job, is there anyone who doesnt have facebook account? Maybe people who work for Google. :)
You has a great blog. I'm very interesting to stopping here and leaves you a comment. Good work.
ReplyDeleteLets keep writing and share to us and other.
Nb: Dont forget to leave your comment back for us.
hey dark heart 2011, I know you, I remember you, I even put a post about you. My offer still stands, wanna start a website to get back at those grammar nazis?
Deletehttp://meandmythinkingcap.blogspot.com/2012/01/spam-does-amuse-me-sometimes.html
Looks like you havent changed your comment line either. :)
I worry about the way the media gently pushes the populous into using twitter and facebook...
